This article ties into our study of economics because it shows that through the economic freedom and free enterprise you can become a successful businessman. These people have their own companies and products and they became prosperous. The article also mentions some people who have lost money, which shows that economic freedom can be both good and bad.
I had no idea that there were that many billionaires in the would, but i honestly have only heard of Bill Gates and Liliane Bettencourt. Its amazing how some of these peoples fortune can increase millions one day at a time but also sucks that they could lose millions day to day. The billionaires on the list are from all different countries, but the U.S. is leading the pack with the most billionaires at 442 people and their families. With such a bad economy who knew that we'd even have that many billionaires at all.
-Alex Kaufman After reading this article, I was reassured that even though America suffered with a severe economic recession, there have been many people who have the willpower to succeed financially. With the help of a free enterprise system and a strong emphasis on capitalism, several people have had the determination to succeed in an enterpreneur lifestyle. I found it interesting and intelligent that the Forbes Billionaires article focused on the success of individuals as opposed to the wealth of families. This shows that they have worked diligently to attain their high statuses.
I thought the article was interesting. I had no idea that there were so many billionaires in the United States. The list showed billionaires from all around the world but the most common that I saw were from the United States. There were some from Italy, Germany and Hong Kong.
The article containing the list of all the billionaires in the world is interesting. I didn't know there were this many billionaires in the world, but even though it looks like a huge list it's actually not a lot of people considering the six billion total on the planet. One thing that was cool to see is that Zuckerberg's net worth is already in the $13 billion range, yet he's so young so his net worth can grow up there in the top 15 or so. I'd say be amuse of Facebook his net worth will end up growing to at least $40 billion
I think the article is interesting, I honestly would have never knew that there was that many rich people in the world. To see that a lot of the people i saw on the lists were people that are known here from the united states. Some were from different countries in the world. It relates to our study of economic study because it shows that with free enterprise and economic freedom people can become rich with their business.
It’s incredible that Ortega was able to add $19.5 billon to his fortune. I’d like to add just a simple $20 to mine. To think someone’s assets and cash can amount to such extreme amounts of value in dollar bills is extraordinary. In just a year, Ortega was profitable enough to gain $19.5 billion! Also, 23 of the billionaires of the world are under 40! This sort of gives young adults incentive to work hard to achieve what people in age not too far from ours can do and did. -Matt Treppiedi
I found this article to be very surprising, who would've known that there are so many billionaires in the world. I wasn't shocked to see that most of these billionaires were from the United States, but to see how many were from other countries. It's amazing how much money these people make in a short period of time, or lose in an off year. I would've never thought that the richest man in the world was from Mexico, considering it isn't exactly thought of as a wealthy country.
I was amazed to see the amount of people that are very rich in the United State. I found the article to be somewhat interesting. It was amazing to see that someone of these billionaires are young.
I think its crazy that these people have so much money. I dont understand how they can have so much and the united states could still be suffering economically. i also noticed that theyre all pretty old and im wondering who will inherit all that money. this is also a good example of our economy because people can make a business of their choosing and if it flourishes they become rich.
I thought it was interesting to see where the listed billionaires made all of their money. Some Americans on the list included the founders of companies such as Walmart, Dell, and Microsoft. I noticed a lot of the foreign billionaires made there wealth through real estate. I think a lot of those listed made their money through illegal activity, not as much real estate or investments.
I was actually surprised to see that there were so many billionaires, especially all over the world. New billionaires that were added to the list were of course clothing and accessory designers. It was also really surprising that Eike Batista's fortune dropped by 19.4 billion dollars and he is now ranked 100 in the world.
I didn't realize how many billionaires there are in the world. I noticed a lot of different Countries have billionaires such as Russia, and Mexico that I would never of thought of having people in these countries with over a few hundred thousand dollars. I also saw that Bloomberg is worth 27 billion and that is not right. Some one should rob him, this is one guy that does not deserve to be rich.
its kind of crazy to see all of those people that are billionaires. i had no idea that there was so many billionaires in the world. i noticed that there was different countries/cities all over the world like Russia, Hong Kong, Mexico, France, Spain, US, Sweden, and Germany. i like how it tells you how they became billionaires
To read an article that was based on the people who became such billionaires, is very fascinating to read about, especially for our Economics class!! It shows, how people like us can improve their social interactions with others in the world. They can put out $5 and keep doubling it and turn in thousands of dollars. This can happen to anyone in the world. To make it work, we need to realize what OUR country NEEDS to survive. We can be powerful just like Japan or China, because of their inventions!
while reading this articel I realized how many billionaires are actually in the world. and that all of them are not from America. there are many from countries that you would never expect. also bloomberg is worth 27 billion which just shows that he only cares about the rich because thats who he is. he should worry more about the city rather than all of his money and remember all of the people out there that are not as rich or even close to how rich he is.
- This article has expressed the fundamental values of economics. While reading this article, many billionaires are represented as the important figure and example of economics. For people to become billionaires through risking their lives on a certain product shows a vibrant amount of bravery and trust in oneself. It also interests me how some rich people are using there money to provide others with the hope of education, thus giving them a chance to become a major factor in the world. These billionaires are an example of a rare saying, "If you're not making mistakes, you're not trying anything new". They made mistakes, but with their strive to make other things and explode with new ideas has payed off.
I was surprised to see that there are many billionaires in the United States. This article shows that being an free enterprise or being a entrepreneur can help you become a successful perosn is life. They can make their own business and become rich. Even though we have a bad economy these people still managed to become billionaires.

I was very surprised by the amount of billionaires in thew world, let alone the US. I thought it was weird how most of the billionaires are pretty old, over the age of 60, mostly 70s and 80s. It seems that there are about 20 billionaires under the age of 40, which may cause young adults to strive more towards becoming rich because they believe they can.
There are so many billionaires and the world. It amazes me to learn that there is that much money circulating in the money. There is over 100 billionaires in the world. It also came to my attention that most billionaires are oldish. Ithink this is because it takes time to become as succesful and rich as these people and it doesn't just take off from the beginning.
I was surprised to see how many billionaires there are in the U.S. meanwhile the economy is still in bad shape. All of the billionaires are examples of the fact that our type of economy lets you do whatever you want with your money because a lot of these billionaires got the money from investments.
Most people would like to think that the US is the top country around the world. No one really thinks that many of the countries from the article are considered wealthy, especially Mexico. With all these billionaires in our country, I feel as though we should be in better shape and have less poverty all around us.
The article talks about the billonaires in America. I think that is relates to what were doing in economics because those billionares were entrpenuers and they utilize the free enterprise and econimic freedom by starting their own businesses and companies.
I never knew how many billionares there were in the world! Its crazy! With the amount of billionares in our country we should be advancing so many things such as technology for students and it can improve everyones future.
ashley ralston I thought the article was interesting. I had no idea that there were so many billionaires in the United States, like there are so many its crazy you would never think. The list showed billionaires from all around the world but the most place that had the most was United States which impressed me. There were also some from Italy, Germany and Hong Kong.
I had found this article very different than what I had imagined. With so many people holding such large amounts of wealth in the United States, its inspirational to succeed to match these successful people! Especially seeing how they are not only in the United States, but all over the world, and in great numbers. It gives a lot of thought to what someone like ourselves could do in their financial positions. This also shows that no matter how bad of a shape the economy may be, there are some who are doing very well in spite of that. This truly shows as an example of how individuals determine their success by their own initiative in the economy.
